Cornbread Was Bout It Bout It & Rowdy Rowdy

"Forget Barkley. Forget Rodman. Cedric Maxwell takes a fan OUT. What's even more amazing, Maxwell stays in the game! Can you imagine what Stern would have done with this?

Remember, this is the guy that will eventually become the 81 NBA Finals MVP LOL "

Da Realist:

Cedric Maxwell takes out a fan.

Gangsta D:

That is freaking hilarious.

Da Realist:

I would LOVE to find out what that dude said to him.  lol

Waldini:

It happened in the playoffs and no tech was called :-). Woooow, lmao....

Magic Johnson Talking.

Da Realist:

Magic Johnson was a surprise guest on this episode of the Arsenio Hall Show. This was the day after the Lakers lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals to the Chicago Bulls.

Magic discussed Michael Jordan's impact on the game and what the championship means to him. He also talked about what it's like to lose a championship, his desire to own a team and host his own show and even made a reference to a certain "Laker Girl". It's a funny segment of the show. As always, Magic was entertaining.

Part One

Part Two

Waldini:

I remember this vaguely. Of course I turned it off before the interview finished because of the Finals outcome. while one 14 yr old was celebrating like crazy, a couple of other 14 yr olds were throwing their Jordans in the trash can LOL Read more!

I'm Not Familiar With Gary Payton's Level Of Hate

Waldini:

Do either of you watch NBA Gametime on Tuesday nights? If not, peep itout, shockingly Ahmad Rashad, the Glove, and C-Webb are a winning combination. Not at the level of TNT on Thursdays but MUCH better than whatever ESPN/ABC throws together....

Gangsta D:

Glove and Webber are a winning combo. Ahmad SUCKS! He's always pausing in mid sentence, can't get his thoughts out. He needs to stick to producing:)

Glove and Webber are good when they're just going off the cuff and clowning. When they try to offer analysis, especially Payton, they're not as good. But when they clown, they are hilarious.

Waldini:

I didn't realize how much hate Silky Payton had for Rondo :-).  Apparently his mentor skills didn't rub off

Gangsta D:

Dude, it's LEGENDARY! You can see the disdain on his face whenever Rondo is brought up. It's hilarious. I haven't seen that much hate since Jim Everett Deebo'd Jim Rome:)

Da Realist:

What's up with that?

Gangsta D:

I don't know. Maybe he feels Rondo is getting too much credit. I just know it's hilarious. Glove probably thinks he can go on the court in his dress shoes and give Rondo 30, while ripping him 5 times:)

Waldini:

I have no clue. All i know is every time Rondo's name is mentioned, Glove makes this here you go with this mofo's face. EVERY time

Christmas Music - The Commission Edition

A little boy from Mobile Alabama asked Santa to give him some Christmas Music. Santa passed the list to his favorite folks at the Commission. And now we are fulfilling Little Tight Tight's request. Just don't shoot your eye out kid with that new Red Ryder BB gun you got.

These songs need no explanation. All are dope and required listening at Christmas Time.

The Jackson 5 - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Boyz II Men - Let It Snow

Run-DMC - Christmas in Hollis

New School Music - The Call It What You Want To Edition

You know it's must be the holiday season when I'm dropping two of these posts in the same month. Ok, the first one was more a dedication to one artist's album while this one is more in the tradition of previous new school music posts. There's no hidden meaning, no themes, no nothing. This is just Waldini's Call It What You Want To mix. Just what I'm feeling right now. Enjoy...

Tabi Bonney - Beat Rock

This guy represents the land of New Balance shoes, All World Tees, and Go Go Music. This ain't your normal hip hop song kids. I don't know why I'm so intrigued by this song. It's as simple as it gets on lyrics and he's running through DC for the entire video while screaming "I'm from DC". Is this what your life was like growing up K-dawg?

Murs - Can It Be

I go from one coast to the other. Murs represents Cali and he's bringing a different vibe than most of his West Coast brethren. He's got a sic flow, nice beats, and promise for the new generation of rappers. Now that hair, naw joe you got me on that one. But hey image sells right? Let's hope he blows up and not end up underappreciated like the Tha Liks...

Jurassic 5 - Ducky Boy

You remember Jurassic 5? They dropped the classic "Quality Control" but those cats didn't blow up for some reason. They have released album after album since their first EP, even went on hiatus for a few. Well now they are back with this slick video. And you thought hip hop videos were nothing but cars, women, and liquor. Shame on you....

Slim f Ryan Leslie and Fabolous

I posted Slim's first video in my last post. Honestly I thought he would be a one semi-hit wonder. But then I heard this on the radio, thought the beat was tight, and then was pleasantly surprised it was Slim. He didn't need Fabolous but I understand the game. He's gotta sell to the supposed hustlas of the world. Regardless, nice to see him making a comeback considering how far 112 fell after they left or got dropped from Bad Boy.

Guilty Pleasure of the Week Jim Jones f Ron Browz and Juelz Santana

K-dawg called me one day and just kept repeating "I wanna see you dance, see you dance, see you dance." My first thought was WTF is K-dawg on :-). Then I saw the video, heard the song, and this foolishness is etched in my brain. When I see Mike Epps dancing, it makes me think of K-dawg actin' a fool. So as you can guess, this Guilty Pleasure is here courtesy of a certain person that was mentioned 3 times already in this paragraph. I WANNA SEE YOU DANCE

Rogue's Gallery: Lakers Lament & High Ticket Prices

Waldini:

I watched about a quarter and a half of theSuns-Lakersbefore falling asleep. D, that laker defense is atrocious. If itwasn'tfor the Suns missing open shots, geez a good team would have made thempay. No boxing out, missed assignments, too many gambles forsteals, they have MUCH work to do. On offense, the triangle looked fluidbut youright Kobe's shot is flat. And he's forcing too many shots. When they ran the triangle through Greatest 2nd round pick ever, it looked vintage Tex Winters.

This comment sums it up best. "Our record isgreat,"Bynum said. "[But] the way we're playing, we're not going tobeat thegood teams."

Da Realist:

The Celtics are in town tonight and I was thinking about going to the game. I hadn't been to an NBA game since MJ's last night as a Wizard. It would be good to get out of the house, right? Da Kid likes any "event" and it would be good for Da Wife and I to get out of the house. Then I saw the ticket prices. The least expensive seats in the house are $45. WHAAAT??? For the WIZARDS???

45 X 3 = 135
+
(Ticketmaster fees) 7.70 X 3 = $23.10
+
Parking or Metro = $20

They're asking me to pay $180 before I even get a hotdog. Is the Abe Pollin OUT OF HIS MIND??? The Wizards are 4-15 !

Waldini:

That is highway robbery. The mighty Celts versus a back court that just was called up from the D League...

Gangsta D:

The Lakers are officially on "Annoying the piss out of me" status. They need to get it together or Boston will destroy them on Christmas.

When we were in school, couldn't you get $15 tickets to Hawks games? Or something close? Those prices are ridiculous. Ticket prices should be on a sliding scale during the season. The better the team is, the higher the prices and so forth.

Da Realist:

I used to get $15 tickets to Hawks games as late as 2002. It was nothing to go to a Hawks game, no matter who they played. DC is ridiculous. Read more!

"Putting Up Will Smith Numbers"

Da Realist:

Brooklyn OG discredits Jay-Z.

He [Jay] has built this image of being a hustler, which a lot of people respect that. How can you negate that?

“To me Jay‘s a white boy on the inside, no offense to any white boys. But to me he’s a white boy on the inside and I’m only waiting for time to tell what he’s gonna do with the outside of himself … I’m surprised he should have done himself a favor by pulling me into his his team. How you gon let Akon pull me in, official Konvict … Akon provided the chance and an opportunity for guys like myself, to be in the position I’m in. Jay could have done that out the gate but he didn’t.”
Waldini:

Do you think Jigga really cares at this point? His inner whiteness has got his net worth the supposed cats in the streets would kill for....

Gangsta D:

Jay is so above and beyond that street shit, that it's ridiculous. Ten years ago, maybe he would've cared. Now? He's worth almost half a billion and he's banging Beyonce. Some dude that just got out of prison sending veiled threats isn't gonna get his dander up. Read more!

How do you spell WTF? B-C-S

Waldini:

I looked at the BCS matchups and forgive me if I'm not overly excited

Texas vs Ohio St - yawn
USC vs Penn St - more yawn
Virginia Tech vs Cinn - bigger yawn
Alabama vs Utah - why....
Oklahoma vs Florida - possibly good, depends if Harvin is healthy

I know the Rose bowl still has the Pac 10/Big 10 tie in for at least one more year. I'll be happy when that's over so I can see some more interesting matchups. Secretly I was kinda hoping Oregon St won the Pac 10, Boise St got a BCS invitation and Texas Tech replaced one of the teams in the non title games. Oh well

Gangsta D:

Why did tOSU get in over Texas Tech?

Waldini:

Dollars. Fiesta believes the tOSU fan base will bring more folks to the game than Texas Tech. Rubbish

Da Realist:

I like 3 of the major bowls -- fiesta, rose and the bcs championship bowl. (well, maybe i should say i'm ok with the matchups. i personally don't think oklahoma has a shot in hell of beating florida but one can still dream).

i don't want to ever see texas tech again. i know that's not fair, but i just don't care to see them. all the other schools whining and crying...i don't care. the bcs is about the big name schools and i'm ok with that. them's the rules. if texas tech wanted to be there so bad they shouldn't have lost by 40 to oklahoma.

"Fuck a fair one, i get mines the fast way"

Gangsta D:

Arizona's two states away from Texas?!? Now for some reason football fans in Texas aren't rabid enough to travel two states to see their team play? I used to support the BCS, but they really are annoying me:)

Da Realist:

texas vs osu is just a sexier matchup. it's not just about who shows up at the game, but who watches on tv. more people would watch texas slaughter ohio state than texas slaughter texas tech (because there is no way tt would beat texas again)

Gangsta D:

How can a slaughter be sexy? Lol

Da Realist:

Lol

Waldini:

How about Texas - Alabama in the Fiesta and Texas Tech - Utah in the Sugar?

Da Realist:

who is utah? when did they get a football team?

and besides...do you really think the sugar would let alabama go anywhere? for what? to host a game between the mormons and some dusty no-name team from texas? please.

Waldini:

I'm trying to do the right thang man ;-). tOSU has 2 losses. Texas Tech, Utah, & Boise are all ranked higher in the BCS standings and have better records. What's the point of playing if the best you can do is get to the Cotton Bowl or Idontgiveafuck bowl because the sponsors are worried about money. If that's the case then why is VT-UCinn even happening?? that's a definite ratings killer....

Da Realist:

it's not about fair or right. beyond the bcs championship game, the bcs doesn't hide it's intentions at all. it's all about popularity at that point. and again, i'm ok with that. and most fans are too if you look at viewership numbers. nobody watches texas tech except texas tech fans. look at how empty the acc championship was this past weekend. most fans talk a good game but the numbers really show what we want to watch. and most fans watch big name schools with history. alabama, texas, usc, ohio state, michigan and yes, notre dame among a few other schools.

utah who?

Gangsta D:

Yeah, but how do we know Utah won't become the next Miami? Miami has really on been relevant the last 28-30 years. They were Utah at one point. This is Utah's 2nd BCS game in 5 years. How do we know they won't turn into a traditional power? Answer that one, HAMMER?!? lol

Da Realist:

When they turn into Miami, then we'll watch. Good luck with that. Miami was able to capitalize on the perfect storm (excuse the pun) -- good...no GREAT weather, GREAT recruiting and a weak ass conference for years.

Utah has...mountains.

Gangsta D:

And people with freakishly large teeth...

New School Music - Kanye West Edition

There's been a lot of criticism of Kanye's latest effort. Everyone knows the situation with him and Alexis Phifer and how he used this as a outlet to vent. Difference is he goes the Andre 3000 ala Love below route, opting for mostly singing, very little rapping. Add in him also paying homage to the latest auto tuner King, Mr Rappa Ternt Sainga, and you have 808s and Heartbreak.

Personally, I like the album. Is it his best work? No. Can he sing? Hell no!! Is he creative? Most definitely. And in today's stagnant market, I rather take a chance with someone trying to be different with their material instead of substituting old liquor for new liquor (see Pop Champagne).

Anyway, I picked my 3 favorite tracks off the album to hopefully convince others to come join me on the other side.

Kanye West - Heartless

Track #3 on 808s. And one of the few ones he actually raps. The intro sets a beautiful tone ("How could you be sooo heartless???"). I even included a bonus for you kiddies. The lyrics accompanied with the video.

Kanye West - Paranoid

This song is straight out of a Miami Vice episode. I'm talking the white jacket and pants with a pink tee underneath with the alligators on the feet. But I can't rock the Phillip Michael Thomas jheri curl/perm. I'll gladly stick with my shag :-). They should have included this one of the Grand Theft Auto soundtracks.

Kanye West - Robocop

This was leaked before the album dropped but that version was garbage. The beat is pretty much the same but he laid down some more drums for the album version. Thank goodness b/c the outro wouldn't have made it without it. "That was a good one, your first good one in awhiiillleee"

Waldini WTF Moment
Kanye West - Can't tell me nothing

I didn't put this song on here for the actual song. It's on here for the video. Fo' real, WTF :-)

Bitter Much?

Waldini:

I wonder what Bruce's reaction is to his ex-wife's new business venture.

Da Realist:

Tacky. She's making more of an ass out of herself than him.

Waldini:

My thing is was it really necessary to come at him like that? I don'tknow what he did to her but dayum, this is on some waiting to exhale shit.

Da Realist:

She should just move on with her life. Why does she want everyone toknow she's a bitter old woman? 15% off if you receive alimony?? Allshe's doing is showing how miserable and upset she is.

Waldini:

you caught that too right :-) That's just wrong. Of course she'll end upon Oprah, the View or some similar type show and get kudos for being anindependent woman.

Gangsta D:

Reason #4080 why I'll never get married. Ya'll can have it:)

Waldini:

It ain't that bad man. It's not like wifey is about to open a sports barcalled Ben Dover

Gangsta D:

With my luck and my family's marital history, my wife would probablyopen a restaurant called "Fuck Diallo." lol

Waldini:

I'm trademarking that now :-). Read more!

Is This Chick Nuts? You Betcha

Da Realist:

First John McCain messed up by snubbing David Letterman. Now Sarah Palin has even 1-upped that!

Don't mess with Oprah!

"I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to GretaVan Susteren. She talked to Matt Lauer. She talked to Larry King, butshe didn't talk to me. But maybe she'll talk to me now that she has abook deal." -- Oprah
That's about as far as Oprah's gonna get to calling you out. If Palin truly wants to run in 2012, she better get as many women to vote for her as she can. Oprah controls about 60% of that vote. I suggest she finds her way to Chicago ASAP and blame her "people" for not telling her Oprah
has been calling. LOL

Waldini:

Dumb move on her part. The same hockey mom/Wal-Mart mom she targeted for McCain are the same ones the worship Oprah. And if you trying to lay down a foundation for a supposed 2012 run, this would be a good start.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - Plax Edition

Waldini:

You shoot yourself in the thigh, then tell authorities it happened at a local restaurant like Applebee's. And how do you get rewarded? The state's pressing full charges for unlawful possession and your team suspends you for 4 games. And the NFL hasn't even touched you yet b/c it happened during at a non-NFL site and they are waiting until March. Welcome to Plaxico's world. He's about to find out how hard that drop is....

Gangsta D:

Too bad Johnnie Cochran is no longer with us, cause Plax is gonna need some HELP:) I doubt he serves the entire 3.5 years, but he'll do some time. When the Mayor says your name in anger, the DA has no choice but to bring the pain.

Waldini:

Another sad case of when keeping it real goes wrong. I wonder how Rosenhaus is going to play this one

Gangsta D:

He compared Plax to Sean Taylor-wrong! Lol

Drew isn't gonna have much to say in the interim. He can't play the rest of the year and will be heading to jail some time next year:)

Waldini:

Did he really? That is pretty low by anyone's standards....

The part that gets me is that Plax bitched and moaned his way out of Pittsburgh, where he put up decent not great numbers. Last yr was the first time he puts up great numbers, they win it all and you think he's good. Nope he bitches and moans again about not being paid enough. So the Giants give in and pay the man. How do you reward them? By shooting yourself...Stimpy you Eediot

Gangsta D:

Well, it was an accidental shooting:)

Waldini:

Why do you have the gun in the 1st place :-)?

Gangsta D:

Keep the haters off your nuts:)
