With Evans going down with a knee injury, the Hokies will have to rely on Taylor along with inexperienced RBs. The defense will be stout, but Nick Saban is the Devil or at least a close friend of the Devil and he won't allow the Tide to lose this game. Besides, the GA dome has been good to him. Bama

Waldini - I would have easily said Hokies two weeks ago but then they lost Evans, their starting RB for the season and that changes everything. Bama's lost a lot of offensive power but their D returns like 8 or 9 starters. Same for the Hokies. But the game's in ATL which is a home game for Alabama. Gangsta D - Tough one. Dez Bryant is a mutha. But the Cowboys aren't very good against ranked BCS teams historically. Richt is a beast on the road, but he's breaking in a new starting backfield. Bill Young will blitz the shit out of Joe Cox, and how he handles that will determine how well the game goes. Remember, last year he had Miami bitch slapping Tebow for 3 quarters. Waldini: this is a trap game. I want to pick Vandy b/c they are undefeated. I want to pick Vandy cuz College gameday is broadcasting live from there for the first time ever. But it's Vandy, the perennial academic juggernaut but also constant cellar dweller. I won't be mad if they prove me wrong. AUBURN

Gangsta D: It's the year of the eggheads. If Vandy AND Duke go to bowl games this year, I'm setting all kinds of shit on fire. Car, computer, couch, shoes, er'ething. Still, I got to believe Auburn's pure talent will get them the win.

Gangsta D: Even though we are 2-2, I have such a good feeling about this team. I just feel like they are sooo close to doing some damage. Next year, I expect full on beast mode. But we got some growing pains to get through. Miami wins in a squeaker...again. I expect sloppy, explosive, and bewilderment(Bowden).

Bad Kicks, Worse Raps, Great Rivalry

On Saturday, two former College Football behemoths will collide once again on the gridiron. FSU travels to South Forida to take on my beloved Hurricanes. Nope, these teams aren't as they used to be when they held sway over CFB in the 80's & 90's. Nevertheless, the games are usually tight and often decided by a FG...which is usually missed by a Florida State kicker.



The games weren't always close though. Since I'm a bit of an old school junkie, I dug in the crates and pulled out a gem. The Seminole Rap. Back in '88, the 'Noles were coming off a 1-loss season and were bringing virtually everyone back. Consequently, they were considered the preseason #1 team. The players were so confident in their abilities, that they decided to not only record a braggadocious song but to also shoot a video for it. Have a gander.



Yeah, if you couldn't get through the entire 5 minutes I won't blame you. I've had shits that had more appeal than that monstrosity. Entertaining in an Amy Winehouse sort of way? Yes. Endearing in any respect? Hell no. Now Bobby says that the players came up with the idea when he was in Europe, and there was nothing he could do to stop it upon returning. Riiiight. If you say so, coach.

At any rate, the young Seminoles were feeling themselves a little too much. Steve Walsh and Co. came out of the tunnel and proceeded to beat the fucking breaks off of FSU. It was a curb stomping that would've made Derek Vinyard proud. The ultimate irony, nevertheless, is that FSU kept their mouths shut in '89 and actually beat Miami. Unfortunately they lost to some guy named Frvruh, or something like that, and Miami won the national title anyway.

FSU would ultimately get their revenge in '93. They beat my beloved 'Canes and FINALLY won Bobby a national title. At the time, I even felt a little twinge of joy for the old coot. Because even though I'm a huge Miami homer, I actually respect the Noles. They don't bring forth the piss, bile, and pure hatred that the Gators manage to conjure. No, I can tolerate the Noles just fine. To be honest, I think college football is just a wee bit better when both teams are good. I just want the The U's good to be a little better. Either that, or FSU's kickers to be a little worse.

Waldini: After watching the Miami-Florida game, I said to myself, you know Florida can be beat. Percy Harvin is banged up and Tebow is still running too much. That said, my Vols look bad. You can't intercept a QB 4 times and lose. And then the same team you lost to, took its' worst loss in school history a week later. This is the first in a brutal stretch (Fl, @AU, @GA). I'm picking TENN but only cuz they at home.

Gangsta D: Florida isn't unbeatable. Wow what a shock. Kind of surprising since the team lost four games last year, no? lol But, I don't know that the Vols can beat them. Playing them at home is a plus, and their safeties are crucial. But I hear Crompton's ankle isn't 100%, and the Vols offense wasn't exactly clicking when it was. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm going with the Gaytors.

Da Realist: I hope UT wins, but I pick the Gators

UGA vs ASU

Waldini: Georgia's offense looked woeful last week against the Gaycocks. I don't know if it was as much as South Cack's D as it was Gawga missing half it's starting offensive line. On the flip side, Arizona St lost to UNLV at home. Plus Georgia's D is sic. GEORGIA

Gangsta D: This is the first time Georgia has been west since the 60's. I don't think you can totally discount long travel. But the Dawgs are too good. South Cack has a damn good defense, which is why UGA struggled last week. ASU doesn't match up, and the Dawgs pull away late.

Da Realist: UGA better win. They can't let some Pac-10 pantsy beat them can they? UGA

LSU vs AU

Waldini: This is another tough one. LSU hasn't really played anyone and I don't even know who are their supposed stars. Auburn played in one of the worst games I've witnessed in quite some time last week. LSU

Gangsta D: Auburn's offense is putrid. The "Spread Eagle" needs to hunted down and killed into extinction. Likewise, I couldn't tell you who is on LSU's squad, but I bet they score more than 2 points. Tigers in a rout.

3) Florida State's Indian Chief - Maybe the most recognizable of all the traditions in the past quarter century, we have the Seminole throwing the spear into the ground before the kickoff. Impressive and entertaining, it actually inspires the home team along with the fans. Now, if they could just get the players they had in the 1980s and '90s, they'd be all set.

2) Tennessee singing Rocky Top - Oh, it must be heard and experienced to be believed. thousands of people standing and singing an old folk song doesn't sound intimidating, but when you're on the receiving end of it, you know you're in trouble.

Gangsta D: Knowshown Moreno is pretty much the truth. Give the ball 25 times and he'll get you 150 yds. Auburn's defense is tough, they've had success in Athens, and they'll be looking to avenge the pistol whipping they got last year. But, I'm going with the home team. Moreno looks like a future Heisman candidate.

Waldini: Tuberville is now rumored to take the Aggies' head job once they relieve Franchione. What does that mean for this game? Absolutely nothing, I just wanted to point it out. Back the analysis....Moreno's gotten better, Stafford's cut down on his turnovers, and Richt has found his offensive mojo. On Auburn's side, Cox is more experienced and that defense is very very good. Tough choice but I'm going with AUBURN

Da Realist: This game could be a classic between two good, solid, but not great teams. i'm going with Road Warrior Tuberville. AUBURN


ARK vs UT

Gangsta D: Hmmm. Tennessee plays better at home, but they have no defense, and Humanity Advanced is coming to town. For some reason I'm going with the Vols. McFadden will rush for 200 yds but Casey Dick will only throw for 50. I don't necessarily feel good about this pick.

Waldini: Another tough one b/c both teams either look real good one week or pollywolly crappy the next. Their defenses are both jokes and it will come down to McFadden vs Ainge. Those are the two leading offensive stars for both sides. Forget about Dick, Foster, Fulmer, Nutt. These two will decide the game. Another tough one but Vols are at home so VOLS.

Da Realist: All Tennessee has to do is just win out and they'll punch their ticket to Atlanta. But this is the SEC in the year of the upset. Nothing is as expected. Tenn can't stop the run and find a way to lose at home to ARKANSAS

Gangsta D: I'm going with the home team. Drew had a good game at BC, but he's still Drew. Sean Glennon actually looked like a college QB against Tech, and Tech's defense will be tough as usual. It'll be a dogfight, but the Hokies pull it out in the end.

Waldini: I picked against FSU last week b/c I thought BC was better. I'm picking against them this week b/c I have to get back in the weekly pick championship chase, lol. Although the Hokies offense leaves MUCH to be desired and FSU is quietly putting up decent offensive number along with their defense making BIG plays. Gangsta D: The final game at the Orange Bowl. So many memories. So many Nat'l Championships. Wide Rights. Wide Lefts. Fights. Beatdowns. Classic Endings. You name it, the Old Lady saw it. Miami is planning on having a BUNCH of alumni at the game. It's gonna be crazy. If we don't come out like "300" and destroy everything in our path, something is wrong. Kyle is starting, so we should have more than one completion. UVA is good, but I just can't see Randy allowing this team to lose this game. Just can't see it.

Waldini: Why is this game on here :-)? Just kidding D I know you'll have the box of tissues by your side for this game. UVA has won 5 games by a total of 7 points. Gangsta D: I looked at Weatherford's numbers. Five TDs and 1 pick isn't bad. He's just not a playmaker. Maybe the team rallies around him, due to Xavier's suspension. Yeah, probably not. BC in a rout.

Da Realist: FSU plays well defensively and will find a way to get to Matt Ryan but the offense is horrible right now. BC

Gangsta D: Wisconsin has no D, but do have a pretty potent offense. I suppose the Buckeyes are good, since they're undefeated, but I've paid zero attention to them this year. I do know that Robiskie is going off. If he's going off, then 'Sconsin won't be able to stop it. At home, odds are good that he will go off. Buckeyes stomp a mudhole.

Da Realist: Wisconsin's PJ Hill has a bum wheel. Ohio State will make them one-dimensional and score an easy W. OHIO STATE

Gangsta D: Nebraska sucks monkey balls. Yet Texas was down double digits in the 2nd half. Thanks to a ridiculous 4th qtr by Jamaal Charles, the 'Horns pulled it out. Mike Gundy is a ridah. He will have the Cowboys ready to play. Texas has showed me ZERO this year. The Cowboys knock Colt McCoy out of the game, and take it to the 'Horns.

Gangsta D: Apparently, ASU has a stingy run defense. Oregon has a nasty run offense. Something's gotta give! If Dennis Dixon can throw the ball effectively and not make mistakes, the Ducks entire offensive playbook will be opened up. However, if he makes mistakes like in the Cal game, the Sun Devils will take it. This is actually a pick 'em for me. I really don't have a strong feeling either way. But when in doubt, go with the home team with the ridiculous home field advantage. So the Ducks it is.

LSU vs Bama

Gangsta D: Ahh...enmity, spite, hate, vengeance, piss, vinegar, and distaste. I got a feeling there are gonna be more than one personal fouls. Let a team try to pull a "Georgia" and see what happens. That being said, I'm not sure which Bama team shows up. The one that demolished the Vols, or the one that couldn't complete a pass against FSU. Glenn Dorsey will be gimpy, if he does play. Matt Flynn still bothers me in spots. But, you can't expect John parker Wilson to throw for 340+ yds two games in a row can you? It's a low scoring slugfest, but I think LSU grits it out in the end.

Da Realist: All the pressure's on LSU. Everyone knows they're more talented. Everyone knows Les Miles wants this game badly. Maybe too much. Alabama has some playmakers I'm not sure LSU can deal with for a whole game, provided they can keep JPK upright. If the Tide keep a balanced attack, they find a way to beat LSU. ALABAMA

Does it even matter anymore? I mean, really? We all know that BC will lose. Michigan is more than capable of beating OSU with a healthy Hart and Henne. Only God knows who's going to BCS Bowls. I won't count anyone out.

1. LSU - Just because no one is sure if Les has balls the size of a sperm whale or brains the size of a tit mouse. There hasn't been a ruling on that yet, has there?

2. Oregon - They look downright nasty on offense. Defense is sieve-like, but Dennis Dixon appears to be the truth

This is the wackiest, zaniest, craziest whatever you want to call it season ever in football. Never have teams risen and fallen so fast in a single bound. - Baseball - The Sox rally from a 3-1 deficit w/Games 6 and 7 being blowouts. They even get a positive ROI in Dice K in Game 7. Realist, you watch this sport more than I do. I only know a handful of Boston players and no one on Colorado's squad. Who's winning this thing?

- College Football - Tenn fulfills their losing prophecy (dbl digit blowout), South Carolina and S. Florida become the latest upset victims, & Miami-Florida put on one of the best games in their series in years. How sad is it when your Punter is your Chevy Scholarship Player of the Game (Fighting Irish)? And do you realize that the Ala-Tenn and Miami-FSU game was reduced to regional coverage??? And that Michigan-Illinios was on PRIME TIME Television?!?!?!

- Pro Football - I almost saw shades of Buffalo-Houston '92 in the Houston-Tennessee game yesterday. Thank goodness My Bironas made his record FG count when it mattered. NE continues to roll. They better pray nothing happens to Brady or Moss b/c if either is injured, it's a wrap. The AFC East's a joke, the NFC East and AFC South are legit and don't look now but the Bears are quietly winning games again

Shockingly, I havent kept up with MLS or NBA so I dont know what's poppin there....

Once the Sawx won Game 5, I knew it was a wrap. For some reason, it reminded me of an NBA playoff series from last year:) The only way I can talk about baseball is to relate it to NBA terms. The Rockies have won 21-22 and will have a 9 day layoff. Very similar to the Lakers of '01 who won 20 straight and had a long layoff before the Finals. If the Rockies can shake off the rust of game 1, they can win. 21-22 isn't a fluke.

Finally we get a Miami-FSU matchup with some scoring. I still can't believe Kirby actually outplayed someone in crunch time. When Kyle didn't come back for the 2nd half, I thought it was a wrap. But I gotta give him credit, he came through in the clutch. UF beat UK, but at least Tebow got hurt:) Yeah I know that was mean, but that's just how I'm living right now. Notre Dame is horrible. Weis should be fired. His offense is nonexistent and he's had FOUR of his own recruits transfer this year. Something is rotten in Denmark, and it closely resembles Tweedle Dee.

My 'Boys were uninspired vs the Vikings, but at least we held Peterson in check. The defense can shut down anyone except for Tom Brady, apparently. The Dolphins and Rams may combine for 25+ losses. That's crazy. I'm surprised no coach has been fired yet, but I bet there are several before Thanksgiving.

Very concise wrap up of the weekend Bitterman:) But you and I know that he isn't going anywhere. My question is how bad does it get? He woke up to a "For Sale" sign in his front yard. How nasty will the unrest get?

He's going nowhere. FSU is living in the past. We're the new Alabama Crimson Tide. What's scary is...even if he retires, his fingerprints will still be all over the program. He wants to be a deity at FSU. He just doesn't have it anymore.

In fact, his "system" has always been predicated on having superior athletes. It's not that complicated. When he matches up with a team of comparable talent (i.e. miami), he loses the closely fought games. Think about it...FSU usually wins the games where there is no doubt we are the better team. That's why most of our victories over Miami are blowouts. Miami usually wins the games where they are decided favorites and also the games where we are evenly matched. Generally speaking.

Saturday's game hurt, but it didn't hurt. Let's just say I had a feeling we would cough up the game, but to lose to a Miami team that didn't even play that well...that part did sting a little bit. Read more!

Miami vs FSU

Gangsta D: Yeah, I don't really know what to make of this team. We can look very good, then we can look very bad. We're mediocre. There always seems to be a brightspot, that is quickly replaced by an eclipse. I have no idea which team will show up. We've been plagued by injuries. Our D-tackle depth is hurting as well as LB. Antone Smith may find some running room. But our DE's are stout, so we may be able to keep Xavier in the pocket. FSU has a tough run defense, so it may be up to Kyle. Ugh. Kyle, as usual, has been a mixed bag this year. I thought he had progressed but then came the 4 INTs at UNC and, that was that. I really have no idea how this game will go. Both teams have MPD, and have yet to play up to their full potential. Obviously I'm going with the Canes, but who knows what will happen.

Da Realist: I may be the only person outside of Florida that's gonna record the game. they both suck, but it's still Miami at Florida State. In the best of times or the worst, these two teams always seem to mirror each other. Unfortunately, this year that means inept offenses, strong defenses, mistakes, penalties and mediocrity. FSU cannot run the ball. Miami is quick enough to keep Xavier (who doesn't like to run anyway) from getting any significant yards with his legs and those jump balls he likes to throw may get intercepted more often this week. I want to pick FSU, but i have a very hard time seeing miami losing 3 games in a row for the season and also 3 games in a row in the series (when the talent level has been so even). The Canes make just enough first downs to wear down that nasty FSU defense and FSU probably coughs it up a couple of times. MIAMI

Waldini: I hope for the sake of college football, the state of Florida, and both of you that these two powerhouses figure out how to restore luster to this game. I think Xavier finds a way not to make mistakes and ultimately get his 'Noles the W. SEMINOLES


Auburn vs LSU

Gangsta D: Apparently Auburn has righted the ship, even though they really didn't look that good last week. LSU is coming off of two hard fought games in a row, but there is no rest for the weary in the SEC. I can't believe people still think the SEC is overrated. I think Auburn has a chance, due to the emotional toll the Tigers have weathered the last two weeks. But, LSU is far too talented to lose to this Auburn team at home. It's a close one though.

Da Realist: Who ARE the auburn tigers? If they are the team that lost to Mississippi State at home, then LSU will destroy them. If they are the team that beat Florida then they have a good shot at beating lsu. The last 3 games have been low-scoring, defensive battles that weren't decided until the final moments. This game will be the same way. Auburn won't be intimidated about walking into tiger stadium. They have the defense to frustrate LSU (they held Ark to 67 rushing yards last week), but they just can't score. Auburn will have to win by field position, field goals and hope LSU falters in the kicking game and coughs up a couple of turnovers. In a defensive slugfest between two physical teams, I like AUBURN

Waldini: It would be easy to say LSU but Auburn is the best Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde team. You never know which squad is going to show up. Their kicker has moxy and it was funny as hell to see him doing the Gator chomp when they won in Gainesville. But LSU is pretty po'ed about losing last week and they got a nice gift from Rutgers last night. You dont think they are motivated to open up a can of whup a$$? TIGERS (LSU)


UT vs Bama

Gangsta D: What to make of the volunteers? Get smoked by Cal and UF, but then look like world beaters against UGA. The bloom appears to be off the rose in Tuscaloosa. The Tide hasn't been knocking people's socks off lately. But, they are at home and I still don't trust the Volunteers. Too helter skelter for me. Bama by a smidge.

Da Realist: Bryant-Denny stadium will be rocking for this one. Tennessee proved something last week (at home), but they don't bring it every single week. The tide haven't played well lately but will want to use this game to springboard the rest of their season. They'll win by 3. ALABAMA

Waldini: Both these teams also doing a good job of not knowing which team you are going to get each week. Check Tenn's W-L record. When they win, it's by double digits. When they lose, it's by double digits. Alabama has been going through identity crisises trying to figure out if they want to be SEC contenders or pretenders. I got TENN on the road


Michigan vs Illinois

Gangsta D: Well, it really depends on how healthy Mike Hart is. If he can go, and I mean really go, then the Wolverines will win big. I think the Illini proved last week that they weren't ready for primetime. If Hart is gimpy, I still think Michigan wins, but it's by a FG or less. Illinois will be sick next year, but they're just not ready to be good this year.

Da Realist: This is screaming trap game. Michigan is feeling good about themselves after dismantling Purdue last week. Illinois lost to a bad Iowa team last week. Looking ahead? The game's in Champaigne, the expectations are with Michigan AND Hart is hurt. ILLINOIS

Lamenting Past Greatness

Remember when this game meant something? Remember when it was a titanic tilt between two CFB behemoths? Remember when you used to get butterflies on Tuesday?!? I can't even summon up the requisite animosity. I'm even considering not watching it live! It's not that I think we suck, it's just that we will be mediocre this year. Next year we will either have a true freshman or a redshirt freshman starting. It really will be '09 before we can even think about dominating again.

Da Realist:

I watched a little bit of the '91 game last night on tivo...it's like night and day. Night and day. They were the best 2 teams in the nation playing in the regular season. Remember the rose bowl a couple of years ago? That's like USC and Texas playing every year, home and home. Only this time, they all know each other, were high school teammates, were neighbors, etc. USC vs Texas, but with a little nasty on the side.

There's no reason it can't get back to that level. Both teams have top-10 recruiting classes. The state of Florida will always have top talent. I believe Randy will turn it around. I just hope he's given the time. But as a first time head coach, you really don't know what you're doing until a couple seasons have passed. We'll see. As far as FSU, couldn't tell you. Maybe it is time for Bobby to step down. But no one in the admin has the balls to force him out. It would probably take the Florida Governor to do it:)

FSU vs Wake

Gangsta D: Oooh. Revenge game. The 'Noles got smoked, on their home field, by 30 last year. Bowden shut out at home? Maybe it was the all black uniforms they decided to wear in 90 DEGREE HEAT! At any rate, Xavier "The Savior" seems to have the Noles back on track. No one has been arrested this week, so we're all good there. Wake started off shaky but
are back over .500. It's a Thursday game, and if Rix were still playing I'd go with Wake by two TDs. But somehow I think FSU pulls this one out. Of course, I'm not gonna be terribly broken up if I'm wrong:)

Da Realist: I'm going with the Noles. We were banged up last year and that spread attack KILLED us but we'll be ready this time. Notice how everyone seems to work a little harder on offense now that Xavier's back there. My thoughts? The coaches name the starter, the players name the leader. For some reason, the players didn't believe in Drew Weatherford. That makes a difference. It would help greatly if we can find a way to get Antone Smith going. Our offense is still a work in progress, but the D gives us field position and maybe even a couple of scores. FSU

Bama vs FSU

Gangsta D: Technically not a home game for FSU, but who are we kidding? The Garnet and Gold will be substantially represented in the stands. But will it matter? Bama has played two gut wrenching games in a row. Do they have anything left? Can the 'Noles get their offense going? Bama seems to be on the right track, but I don't know if they're ready emotionally. My brain says to go with Bama, but I think the "home" crowd pushes the 'Noles to victory.

Da Realist: No way does Alabama fall asleep at the wheel in this game so I can't say that FSU will have a motivational advantage. We know Bobby wants this game, but there is another subplot that is just as interesting -- teacher vs student. Jimbo has had 2 weeks off to wake up the offense and get the boys ready. I'm sure he's made quite a few changes (maybe, just maybe including the quarterback position), but Nick wants this game just as badly. I just don't think FSU will be able to bring enough.

They "can" do it, but I need to see them pull out a game like this before I have confidence in them. We still got yahoos getting tasered by the cops on the eve of the biggest game of the season! And we still got Ol' Bobby giving them the message that the game is more important than respect. We're a little banged up and frankly, I don't think we have the speed to keep up with their wideouts all game long. And I don't care about the criticism of John Parker Wilson -- he looks better than any FSU qb i've seen in years. ALABAMA

Waldini: 'Bama proved me wrong last week. I thought they had something special going and then they lose to Georgia at home. Rumblings are also happening inside FSU's camp about the lack of offense. Cal vs Oregon

Gangsta D: Autzen Stadium is gonna be rocking. Dennis Dixon appears to be the truth. Cal is explosive, but so is Oregon's crowd. This is gonna be one of those classic Pac-10, sling the ball around, nobody play defense, trick play bonanzas. Final score should be in the 45-38 range. These teams look to be even, so I'm going with the home team. It's just hard to beat a good Oregon team at home.

Da Realist: Gotta go with the home team. Dixon will dominate. I think they win comfortably. OREGON

Waldini: This just in, the Ducks lose their top receiver for a year. But they still have Dixon and he's a beast. This should be the game of the week as you have two high octane offenses and neither's defense strikes fear in anyone. Clemson vs Gtech

Gangsta D: OK, it's safe to say that Tech is vastly overrated. Stomping ND is no longer a good litmus test. Clemson appears to be on one of their tradional early season rolls. But can they maintain it? Tenuta's defense specializes in tormentin QBs, which is great for Clemson cause they can't throw it. James Davis and CJ Spiller will get heavy work and wear down the yellow jackets. I'm crossing my fingers, and hoping that Tommy isn't screwing with us once again. Clemson by double digits.

W Va vs S FL

Gangsta D: This is gonna be a good one. The mountaineers have a lethal run game. S. Fl is on the comeup. I was tempted to take the Bulls, until this:

Noel Devine comes home to Florida and runs for 135 yds on six carries. And the Bulls get a much needed dose of reality, and hopefully some humility.

Da Realist: The Bulls are not ready to win this game. I would feel better about their chances if it was in Morgantown. The Bulls have won 2 straight games and I'm always leery about picking a team to win 3 straight. The Mountaineers pull this out on the road. WEST VIRGINIA

Waldini: Great offense (WVa) vs a Great defense (USF). Can that defense stop White, Slaton, and now Devine. Maryland did for a quarter and a half, then BAM it was lights out. USF was one of the teams that beat WVa last year so I know Rodriguez has got revenge on his mind. "Mercy is for the weak" WEST VIRGINIA


Miss St vs S Car

Gangsta D: Three wins for Sylvester. Just two more and he's guaranteed a job for next year. The Bulldog defense is actually pretty good, and OBC is trotting out a freshman for his first start. Neither offense can really put up points so it's going to be a defensive struggle. Couple that with the home crowd and the 'cocks pull this one out. However, if the
Bulldogs win I won't be disappointed.

Da Realist: Let's not get carried away here. The Bulldogs are still a work in progress. The Gamecocks were dominated last week, but they DID beat the dawgs between the hedges earlier this year. And besides, they won't lose 2 weeks in a row. SOUTH CAROLINA

Waldini: We see you creeping up in the W column Sylvester. I'm real happy for him b/c the Bulldog alumni have been smoking crack when it comes to their football team and expectations. But I cant see them pulling another miracle like they did in Auburn 2 wks ago. And now that Spurrier pulled another Danny Wuerffel-Terry Dean with his current set of QBs, I think those boys come out and doing their thing. SOUTH CAROLINA and then they go to Bojangles afterwards for bo-berry biscuits and sweet tea.


Auburn vs UF

Gangsta D: Who's got the balls to pick Auburn in an upset? Well if Jason Campbell, Ronny Brown, and the Cadillac were playing, I'd definitely take the Tigers. Unfortunately, they're not walking through that door. Anyway, you know how I feel about Florida. They can be beaten. Maybe Auburn plays with some emotion and pride. Maybe Brandon Cox pulls his head from his hindquarters. Maybe. But I don't think they have the athletes to do it. It will be close, but Florida wins another squeaker. And we have to hear about the greatness of Tebow for another week. I can't wait for them to go to Baton Rouge.

Da Realist: This is the SEC and anyone can win any game on any given saturday, but Auburn has been awful. Give me FLORIDA.

Waldini: Uggh, I hate to keep picking Florida but this game's in the swamp and the Tigers offense is in disarray. FLORIDA wins but if they happen to lose, I wont mind taking an L on this pick. Another week of Tebow's the greatest QB ever. Read more!

Bobby knows how to instill discipline doesn't he? I wonder if the punishment would've been harsher if they were playing W. Alabama A&M this weekend? lol

Florida State linebacker Geno Hayes has been demoted to the second-team after being arrested for an altercation with police outside a bar.

Hayes and fullback Joe Surratt, who is sitting out the season with an injury, were suspended Friday after being arrested earlier in the day. The Seminoles were idle Saturday and coach Bobby Bowden reinstated Hayes on Tuesday.

I really think it's time for bobby to step down. He doesn't actually DO anything. Well, maybe that's too harsh, but he's more of an overseer than a coach. I think it is holding us back because we need some fresh air.

If i said that on Warchant, you'd be reading about me in the the news. They are blindingly loyal over there. Even if you bring in all these fresh coaches, they still need to adhere to bobby's way of doing things. I just think it's time.

The question is... how much of florida state is bobby bowden? when he leaves, will the program move forward? Tallahassee is not exactly a vacation spot. there are other top school's in rural areas, but fsu has to out-recruit two other major players in the state not to mention georgia, georgia tech, alabama, auburn, tennessee and clemson not too far away. How much pull does fsu have without bobby? I don't know, but i think it's time we found out.

If Bobby leaves, they'll make a hard push for Richt. He'll probably be their #1 choice.

He left on bad terms. people still hadn't forgotten how he left. (they said he was too distracted and as a result, we couldn't score against oklahoma). Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with Richt.

I think that bobby is already making moves. have you heard about how he's hired terry bowden as a "consultant"? Now why would one need a consultant after hiring all those coaches over the summer??? One of these days, Jimbo is going to find out the same thing mark richt found out. He has no shot at the top job.

Seminole fans have to get over themselves. The offense has been a mid-air collision since Richt left. But who said college football fans were rational.

Yeah, I forgot about Terry being hired. I guess that would probably be the only job to remove him from his self-exile.

There's just been a lot going on with bobby to make me think it's time. I still remember a couple of games against his son at clemson that seemed rather suspect. tommy's fighting for his job and the seminoles go in ranked #3 and lie down. It's been a couple of games like that. he's the only person on earth who thought Jeff was doing a good job. He's now hired terry as a "consultant".

Richt didn't leave on his own. Bobby made it clear to him that he wanted to promote his son from wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator. Richt left a little bitter. Can you see now how our offense didn't seem to have any pop against Oklahoma in the orange bowl that year? The 2003 sugar bowl displayed a lot of tension between the two.

Weekend Reflections Suck

Wasn't a good weekend for us, huh, (Waldini)? How does a team like fsu fall so far behind? Forget the country, forget the ACC, we didn't even have the best athletes on the field against CLEMSON. We're at least a few years away. years.

Now i can just be in hater mode until then.

yea it absolutely stunk. My sat was going great (Mich lost, ND lost) until the Cal game. I was screaming Dont punt to DeSean Jackson, these jabronis did, and he does a video game punt return for a TD. The run defense killed my boys last year and it doesnt appear that is fixed. Plus they have no faith in the receivers as deep threats b/c they didnt try the long ball ONCE during the game

Annoying to say the least. But at least I got to watch Holtz eat some crow on Gameday review

What do you mean "now?" lol

FSU's O-line was just brutal in the first half. They couldn't protect or run block. The defense just wasn't playing up to expectations. I can't believe that FSU couldn't handle Clemson's speed. That doesn't even seem right, typing it. At least they showed some life near the end. But they better tighten it up quick. The schedule is brutal.
