Who Ya Got?

It's a sad day when Georgia-Tenn doesn't even make the list :-( Damn u Crompton

Bama vs Ole Miss

Waldini - I like Snead and Nutt. But I still think Ole Miss is overrated. I'm drinking the Crimson berry Tide Kool-Aid Realist. And you know that's a damn shame from a Vols fan. CRIMSON TIDE

Gangsta D - Something tells me that the Right Rev Nutt is gonna have his boys ready to play. Unfortunately, it won't matter. The Tide aren't sexy, just unbeatable at this point. Saban gets it done.

Da Realist - Hmm... I'm going with the Ole Miss upset in Oxford.

BC vs Va Tech

Waldini - The Eagles are shocking folks. But not even have Flutie Flakes in Blacksburg is gonna be enough. HOKIES

Gangsta D - Hokies, unfortunately. BC almost let a bad FSU squad come back and beat them.

Da Realist - Va Tech

Mich vs Iowa

Waldini - Did you know this is the Sat game of the night on ABC? Didn't we suffer enough with Penn St-Iowa :-). Hawkeyes D is legit. O is not. Still don't think Forcier's got enough to will them on the road. HAWKEYES

Gangsta D - uhhh...coin flip. Wolverines. For some reason I think the Hawkeyes get exposed.

Da Realist - Michigan

Auburn vs Ark

Waldini - TIGERS

Gangsta D - Final score should be 52-47. Ryan Mallet is a beast, yo. I know I've said it before, but dude is the real deal. Might be the #1 pick in '11. I got the Hogs, even though Petrino is still a Total Fucking Douchebag.

Da Realist - Auburn

LSU vs UF

Waldini - Uh oh. Death Valley. At night. On ESP er CBS. Didn't Florida squeak out one in the same situation a couple of years ago. Tell Verne, I'm rolling with a half healthy Tebow and his crying coach. GATORS

Gangsta D - Nope, Meyer is 0-2 at Death Valley. If Brantley starts, it might get ugly. The Tigers offense is suspect, but that defense and the screaming, deranged, crawfish boiling Tiger fans are going to make young Brantley's head implode. If Tebow starts, it'll just be a really big headache. Either way, I got the Tigers. 31 in a row at night is the definition of a trend.

Da Realist - Sadly, I think Florida's gonna come in a beat the Tigers. If Florida is gonna lose, it won't be in "the game of the week" type of setting. Florida

COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!! The Commission Pick 'Em Returns

Bama vs Virginia Tech

Da Realist - I'm going with Bama in the GA Dome

Gangsta D - I just don't think Tyrod Taylor has that "It" factor that everyone thinks he does. Very inconsistent. With Evans going down with a knee injury, the Hokies will have to rely on Taylor along with inexperienced RBs. The defense will be stout, but Nick Saban is the Devil or at least a close friend of the Devil and he won't allow the Tide to lose this game. Besides, the GA dome has been good to him. Bama

Waldini - I would have easily said Hokies two weeks ago but then they lost Evans, their starting RB for the season and that changes everything. Bama's lost a lot of offensive power but their D returns like 8 or 9 starters. Same for the Hokies. But the game's in ATL which is a home game for Alabama. No sneaking up on teams like they did to Clemson last year. BUT they will get the same result. ALABAMA

Okie St vs UGA

Da Realist - Gimme Georgia

Gangsta D - Tough one. Dez Bryant is a mutha. But the Cowboys aren't very good against ranked BCS teams historically. Richt is a beast on the road, but he's breaking in a new starting backfield. Bill Young will blitz the shit out of Joe Cox, and how he handles that will determine how well the game goes. Remember, last year he had Miami bitch slapping Tebow for 3 quarters. Flip of coin goes to the Cowboys...cause Mike Gundy is a man damn it!

Waldini - The game's in whatever city the Cowboys play in (don't know, don't care LOL). They got most of the entire offense returning. You know the one that was ringing up points like a pinball machine. Georgia's lost Stafford and Moreno.Yet they are ranked #13. You have to love preseason polls. OKLAHOMA ST

Oregon vs Boise St

Da Realist - Boise

Gangsta D - I have no idea about this one. Chip Kelly takes over for Belloti. Boise is crucial at home, even though they haven't played any of note. Boise beat the Ducks last year, so they'll be out for revenge. But...you can't beat the Broncos on the Smurf. Boise wins and starts their trek towards the BCS title game (shudder).

Waldini - Ah that crappy a$ blue turf. Ah well, The Ducks have to get over that plus the beating they took at home to the Broncos last year. New coach for the Ducks but they got their QB and one of their top RBs returning. Broncos still have Peterson running the show and also their top QB returning. But only 12 starters on both sides of the ball return. In Bill Raftery voice "Oh Vern, the Ducks are FLLLLYIIIINNNG." OREGON

Mizzou vs Illinois

Da Realist - Illinois

Gangsta D - How did I know that Waldini would have something to say about this? Can the Tigers replace Maclin and Daniel? Will Juice Williams complete over 50% of his passes? Will Zook straight choke Juice the fuck out if he doesn't? These are the important questions. This is why this game was included. Illini hangs a number on the Tigers.

Waldini - How did this game get on here? What are you a Big 12 lover :-)? Zook. Zook. Zook. Even though I know he can't coach. But Mizzou lost Chase Daniel and Jeremy Maclin. I hear their backup QB was highly rated coming out of high school. I'm not taking that chance. ILLINOIS

FSU vs The U

Da Realist - FSU

Gangsta D - It's time. It's moment time. The past 5 seasons have sucked ass through a straw. But now, it's time for a mighty hurricane to begin swirling those winds in the Atlantic. Now is the time for the swagger to return. Now is the time to bury Bobby Bowden under the field that bears his name. You know who I got.

Waldini - Did you know this game is not even sold out yet. My how this once super rivalry has fallen. The U can't keep a QB to save its' life and Free Shoes Coach is running on life support. Two uses of the word life in one sentence. I made a funny, dog! Oh yea who wins, I guess FSU since it's at home. FLORIDA ST.

Who Ya Got?!?

Me 15-9
Waldini 17-7
Realist 14-10

Bama vs UGA

Waldini: Is Alabama for real? We'll find out Sat. Nick Satan's up there with Urban Liar and Ole Ball Coach on list of coaches I like to root against. GEORGIA

Gangsta D: I still think Bama is overrated. They just haven't showed me that they are a top 10 team. UGA has the total package now. They can run, throw, catch, and stop the run. Plus they're wearing black on saturday. Dawgs.

Realist: UGA

VT vs NU

Waldini: I haven't seen Nebraska play all year, I know nothing about them. VIRGINIA TECH [Update: Alright Gangsta I am going to change one of my picks....VT vs Braska - NEBRASKA :-) What you thought I was going to change to the Vols. Hell naw....]

Gangsta D: The Hokie offense is atrocious. Tyrod Taylor is NOT the answer. I don't know anything about the Cornhuskers but Bo Pellini can coach defense. So I'm looking at a defensive struggle. And I never take Tyrod Taylor on the road in a defensive game. Braska

Realist: Nebraska

FSU vs CU

Waldini: I learned my lesson last week. COLORADO

Gangsta D: As I tried to tell Realist last week, the FSU defense looks pretty damn strong. CU's offense doesn't scare me...but Ponder and Richardson do. FSU gets a bounce from playing 2 hours from home, but the Buffs are the better team.
Realist: Colorado

IL vs PSU

Waldini: Juice ain't enough. PENN ST

Gangsta D: The Juice will be let loose on Joe Pa in an unlikely Big 10 shootout.

Realist: Penn St

UNC vs Miami

Waldini: See FSU vs Colorado. MIAMI

Gangsta D: Come on. Really? Is there a question?

Realist: Miami

UT vs AU

Waldini: Why are you even putting Tenn games on here? AUBURN

Gangsta D: I'm sticking up for Smokey. Auburn hasn't shown me anything this year. The Vols will be playing for Phil's job. Somehow they find a way to pull it out.

Realist: AU Read more!

Who Ya Got?!?

Standings:

Me 9-9
Waldini 14-4
Realist 10-8

UF vs UT

Waldini: After watching the Miami-Florida game, I said to myself, you know Florida can be beat. Percy Harvin is banged up and Tebow is still running too much. That said, my Vols look bad. You can't intercept a QB 4 times and lose. And then the same team you lost to, took its' worst loss in school history a week later. This is the first in a brutal stretch (Fl, @AU, @GA). I'm picking TENN but only cuz they at home.

Gangsta D: Florida isn't unbeatable. Wow what a shock. Kind of surprising since the team lost four games last year, no? lol But, I don't know that the Vols can beat them. Playing them at home is a plus, and their safeties are crucial. But I hear Crompton's ankle isn't 100%, and the Vols offense wasn't exactly clicking when it was. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm going with the Gaytors.

Da Realist: I hope UT wins, but I pick the Gators

UGA vs ASU

Waldini: Georgia's offense looked woeful last week against the Gaycocks. I don't know if it was as much as South Cack's D as it was Gawga missing half it's starting offensive line. On the flip side, Arizona St lost to UNLV at home. Plus Georgia's D is sic. GEORGIA

Gangsta D: This is the first time Georgia has been west since the 60's. I don't think you can totally discount long travel. But the Dawgs are too good. South Cack has a damn good defense, which is why UGA struggled last week. ASU doesn't match up, and the Dawgs pull away late.

Da Realist: UGA better win. They can't let some Pac-10 pantsy beat them can they? UGA

LSU vs AU

Waldini: This is another tough one. LSU hasn't really played anyone and I don't even know who are their supposed stars. Auburn played in one of the worst games I've witnessed in quite some time last week. LSU

Gangsta D: Auburn's offense is putrid. The "Spread Eagle" needs to hunted down and killed into extinction. Likewise, I couldn't tell you who is on LSU's squad, but I bet they score more than 2 points. Tigers in a rout.

Da Realist: Don't know what's happened to Auburn since but they look awful. LSU

Bama vs AR

Waldini: Did you know Arkansas was undefeated? Me neither. ALABAMA
Gangsta D: Supposedly the Razorbacks can pass this year. Unfortunately, they've almost been beaten by two 1-AA teams. After crucifying Clemson, Bama
has looked ordinary against substandard competition. Nevertheless, I'm going with Bama because Bobby Petrino might be an even bigger dick than Saban.

Da Realist: Bama

FSU vs Wake

Waldini: Florida St's ranked again, hooray! And who do they get this week? Prbly the best QB in the ACC in Mr Skinner. I don't think the Demon Deacons are as great as everyone makes them out to be. However, the ACC isn't exactly drumming out dope teams as a whole. Toss up game, pick FLORIDA ST

Gangsta D: Let me get this right. FSU blows out two 1-AA teams and they get ranked in the top 25 AND are favored against Wake? Really? Christian Ponder
is the next Weinke? Not buying it. Wake is too good. FSU crumbles upon facing real competition.

Da Realist: I see a glimmer of hope here. Well, I'm hoping for the best. WF can't beat FSU 3 straight times, right? FSU

UNC vs VT

Waldini: See above comments on ACC. UNC is shocking folks, VT is barely beating folks. UNC

Gangsta D: Everybody is riding Tar Heel jock right about now, after they mollywhopped Rutgers. Newsflash! Rutgers sucks this year, so I don't know what that told us. Nevertheless, VT isn't really all that good either. I'm going with VT. Beamer finds a way to block three punts and return all three for TDs.
Da Realist: Butch Davis is doing some things down in Chapel Hill. They aren't the joke of the ACC anymore. UNC Read more!

Who You Got?!?

College Football is HERE!!! And with that, it's time to kickstart our annual Pick 'Em. Last year I won going away, and I expect the trend to continue this year.

Gangsta D 0-0
Waldini 0-0
Realist 0-0

Clemson vs Alabama

Waldini: Is this the year the Tigers FINALLY live up to expectations? Is this the year Saban's so called top recruiting classes come through? On one hand you got the ACC's top returning QB and one of the nation's top backfields. On the other hand, the game's in Tuscaloosa. [Ed. Note Bama-Clemson is in the Georgia dome] Hmmm, tough call but I'm sticking with Thunder and Lightning. TIGERS

Realist: Clemson

Gangsta D: THIS is the year. Tommy Bowden gets it DONE this year. Nah, I'm not feeling it either. Tried to talk myself into it. Clemson will be Clemson, which means a hot start. I think they get it started right against bama. Saban just doesn't have the athletes yet, although Julio Jones appears to be a beast. Clemson whups up on the Tide, and get everyone in South Cack primed for disappointment.

USC vs UVA

Waldini: I was getting ready to question you on putting this game in the pick 'em Gangsta. But with Sanchez having a bad wheel, it's not a slam dunk anymore. Still Al Groh has been a perennial loser at the pro and college level (Side trivia two former AFC East coaches battle it out). TROJANS

Realist: USC

Gangsta D: Yeah, it seems like a mismatch but Week 1 is slim pickens for quality matchups. The Wahoos are woefully undermanned against the Trojans. But 'SC does have to fly cross country and that's always tough. But not tough enough. 'SC by 25 at least.

Appalachian St vs LSU

Waldini: Again another one that prbly would have been a slam dunk if Perriloux (sp?) hadn't screwed himself (and LSU). This is a trap game as App St returns their star players. Is this game at night and on ESPN? You know LSU always rises to the occassion in that scenario. I'm picking LSU but I love it if App St pulled off two shockers this decade. TIGERS

Realist: LSU

Gangsta D: App St BITCH!!! Yeah I said it. I'm willing to fall a game behind, just to be bold. This pick is gangsta...just like me.

Mizzou vs Illinois

Waldini: Illinois is the South Carolina of the Midwest. That means every 6-8 years they have that magic season where they do damage. For the time in between they are mediocre. Yea I know Juice is back but Mendenhall is gone. And Zook is still there. Juice's got the name, Chase has got the game. TIGERS

Realist: Mizzou

Gangsta D: Chase Daniel appears to be the truth. That would make Juice Williams the false, or something like that. No Mendenhall, and Regus Benn can't be effective if Juice doesn't get him the ball. Plus Zook is coaching, so there's that. Tigers by a bunch.

Utah vs Meechigan

Waldini: Man, everyone is picking against Rodriguez. Count me in that bandwagon. UTES

Realist: Utah

Gangsta D: Apparently Utah is really good this year. Michigan is implementing a whole new offensive system, and they don't have a QB who can run it. Rich Rod will eventually get his kind of athletes, but that's not gonna help him this weekend. Utes.

UT vs UCLA

Waldini: Tenn isn't as bad as Illinois but they have had a bad trend of falling off after posting surprise seasons in this decade. Olson is out, I don't know who the backup is, and the coach is new. Crompton's not exactly experienced either. I think Tenn gets lucky that UCLA has QB issues. TENN

Realist: UT

Gangsta D: The Bruins don't have a QB. The Vols may not have a QB. The Vols have to travel across the country, which didn't really turn out all that well last year. But, the Vols are a better team so I'm riding with Smokey. Read more!

Who Ya Got?!?

Picks Update:

Leader 1 44-27
Loser 1 34-37
Loser 2 34-37

Gangsta D:

Should we even continue with this slaughter? I'd have to lose every game this week and the Conf Championships just to fall back to a tie. Should I be expecting your concession speeches today?

Waldini:

In a few short words....OH HELL NO I aint quittin.

Gangsta D:

My God. Somebody just likes punishment. You'll notice a trend with my picks. Who's going to go out on that limb?

Da Realist:

I don't remember pounding your balls to the wall the last couple of years, but that's ok. There is always next year, CHAMP.

Gangsta D:

Hey, just because you didn't exercise your God given right to talk trash, doesn't mean I'm gonna refrain. I can take it, and I can dish it out. Oh yeah, can I dish it out:)

USC vs ASU

Gangsta D: This is a pick 'em. I'm taking the home team. The Trojans' troubles have been apparent all year. ASU isn't a juggernaught, but they come through at home.

Waldini: USC

Da Realist: USC

FSU vs UF

Gangsta D: I really want FSU to win, but Florida has too many playmakers. Best case scenario is Tebow having a HORRIBLE day, thereby dumping his Heisman chances down the drain. Probably won't happen though.

Waldini: UF

Da Realist: UF

UT vs UK

Gangsta D: A certain Volunteer fan knows that his squad escaped by the enamel of their teeth last week. The up and down Vols go on the road, and we know that bad things happen when they go on the road. Woodson's last home game is a good one, as the Cats gangbang Smokey.

Waldini: UT

Da Realist: UK

UConn vs WVU

Gangsta D: The Mountaineers have a shot at the nat'l title game. The Huskies are the new kids on the block. They're not not yet ready for the big stage. Pat White will probably run for a 60 yd TD in the last minute.

Waldini: WVU

Da Realist: WVU

Mizzou vs KU

Gangsta D: Who would've thought THIS game would be the marquee matchup this weekend? I haven't seen either team play, but Kansas has that '99 Virginia Tech feel to them. Gotta go with the Jayhawks.

Waldini: Mizzou

Da Realist: Kansas

Bama vs Auburn

Gangsta D: After losing to UL Monroe, Saban has GOT to win this game. Alas, he won't. Auburn is just a better team right now. Bama will get better, but just like Mr. Shannon, Mr. Saban is finding out that the "Magicial One-Year Turnaround" is more myth than reality.

Waldini: Auburn

Da Realist: Auburn

Who Ya Got?!?

Winner 33-21
Loser #1 27-27
Loser #2 25-29

Waldini: This sucks b/c I'm basically agreeing with Studio Gangsta on his picks.

Gangsta D: Yes, but you'll move into a tie for 2nd place. No way Super Fan #99 gains three games on me in one week. No. Effing. Way! Lol

FSU vs BC

Gangsta D: I looked at Weatherford's numbers. Five TDs and 1 pick isn't bad. He's just not a playmaker. Maybe the team rallies around him, due to Xavier's suspension. Yeah, probably not. BC in a rout.

Da Realist: FSU plays well defensively and will find a way to get to Matt Ryan but the offense is horrible right now. BC

Waldini: BC because I dont think FSU can duplicate last week's offensive accomplishments in back to back games. I still BC is not going to go undefeated but they're not losing this week. BC

Wisc vs Ohio St

Gangsta D: Wisconsin has no D, but do have a pretty potent offense. I suppose the Buckeyes are good, since they're undefeated, but I've paid zero attention to them this year. I do know that Robiskie is going off. If he's going off, then 'Sconsin won't be able to stop it. At home, odds are good that he will go off. Buckeyes stomp a mudhole.

Da Realist: Wisconsin's PJ Hill has a bum wheel. Ohio State will make them one-dimensional and score an easy W. OHIO STATE

Waldini: Buckeyes. Animal Jr and the rest of that defense has been putting a hurt on Big 10 foes. I don't see them getting tested until they play a rejuvenated Michigan team at the end of this month. OSU

UT vs Okie St

Gangsta D: Nebraska sucks monkey balls. Yet Texas was down double digits in the 2nd half. Thanks to a ridiculous 4th qtr by Jamaal Charles, the 'Horns pulled it out. Mike Gundy is a ridah. He will have the Cowboys ready to play. Texas has showed me ZERO this year. The Cowboys knock Colt McCoy out of the game, and take it to the 'Horns.

Da Realist: UT hasn't been impressive. They should have lost to UCF. Okie State will run all over Texas. OKLAHOMA STATE

Waldini: Coin flip time b/c I dont know enough about the Cowboys besides their coach getting mad. Heads on UT, Tails on Okie St. TAILS! Okie St.

ASU vs Oregon

Gangsta D: Apparently, ASU has a stingy run defense. Oregon has a nasty run offense. Something's gotta give! If Dennis Dixon can throw the ball effectively and not make mistakes, the Ducks entire offensive playbook will be opened up. However, if he makes mistakes like in the Cal game, the Sun Devils will take it. This is actually a pick 'em for me. I really don't have a strong feeling either way. But when in doubt, go with the home team with the ridiculous home field advantage. So the Ducks it is.

Da Realist: This is a pick-em for me too. I stayed up till 2am last saturday to watch ASU beat down Cal. I'll roll with them for that. ASU

Waldini: Thanks goodness the Mousketeers worked a last min deal to get the game on ESPN, well at least for those East of Nevada. ASU proved some things to me last week but I still like Oregon. Especially in Autzen stadium. Oregon

LSU vs Bama

Gangsta D: Ahh...enmity, spite, hate, vengeance, piss, vinegar, and distaste. I got a feeling there are gonna be more than one personal fouls. Let a team try to pull a "Georgia" and see what happens. That being said, I'm not sure which Bama team shows up. The one that demolished the Vols, or the one that couldn't complete a pass against FSU. Glenn Dorsey will be gimpy, if he does play. Matt Flynn still bothers me in spots. But, you can't expect John parker Wilson to throw for 340+ yds two games in a row can you? It's a low scoring slugfest, but I think LSU grits it out in the end.

Da Realist: All the pressure's on LSU. Everyone knows they're more talented. Everyone knows Les Miles wants this game badly. Maybe too much. Alabama has some playmakers I'm not sure LSU can deal with for a whole game, provided they can keep JPK upright. If the Tide keep a balanced attack, they find a way to beat LSU. ALABAMA

Waldini: I really wish this was being played at Death Valley stadium just so I could hear the Nick Satan chants on TV. It took a phenomenal performance by Andre Woodson and some mishaps by the LSU offense PLUS triple OT for LSU to lose. I dont have enough faith in John Parker Wilson to put my money on Alabama. LSU Read more!

Who You Got?!?

Moi 23-18
Osceola 20-21
Smokey 19-22

Da Realist: I'm surprised you didn't choose USC at Notre Date. In honor of that game, here's a funny ass clip right here . lmao...

Miami vs FSU

Gangsta D: Yeah, I don't really know what to make of this team. We can look very good, then we can look very bad. We're mediocre. There always seems to be a brightspot, that is quickly replaced by an eclipse. I have no idea which team will show up. We've been plagued by injuries. Our D-tackle depth is hurting as well as LB. Antone Smith may find some running room. But our DE's are stout, so we may be able to keep Xavier in the pocket. FSU has a tough run defense, so it may be up to Kyle. Ugh. Kyle, as usual, has been a mixed bag this year. I thought he had progressed but then came the 4 INTs at UNC and, that was that. I really have no idea how this game will go. Both teams have MPD, and have yet to play up to their full potential. Obviously I'm going with the Canes, but who knows what will happen.

Da Realist: I may be the only person outside of Florida that's gonna record the game. they both suck, but it's still Miami at Florida State. In the best of times or the worst, these two teams always seem to mirror each other. Unfortunately, this year that means inept offenses, strong defenses, mistakes, penalties and mediocrity. FSU cannot run the ball. Miami is quick enough to keep Xavier (who doesn't like to run anyway) from getting any significant yards with his legs and those jump balls he likes to throw may get intercepted more often this week. I want to pick FSU, but i have a very hard time seeing miami losing 3 games in a row for the season and also 3 games in a row in the series (when the talent level has been so even). The Canes make just enough first downs to wear down that nasty FSU defense and FSU probably coughs it up a couple of times. MIAMI

Waldini: I hope for the sake of college football, the state of Florida, and both of you that these two powerhouses figure out how to restore luster to this game. I think Xavier finds a way not to make mistakes and ultimately get his 'Noles the W. SEMINOLES

Auburn vs LSU

Gangsta D: Apparently Auburn has righted the ship, even though they really didn't look that good last week. LSU is coming off of two hard fought games in a row, but there is no rest for the weary in the SEC. I can't believe people still think the SEC is overrated. I think Auburn has a chance, due to the emotional toll the Tigers have weathered the last two weeks. But, LSU is far too talented to lose to this Auburn team at home. It's a close one though.

Da Realist: Who ARE the auburn tigers? If they are the team that lost to Mississippi State at home, then LSU will destroy them. If they are the team that beat Florida then they have a good shot at beating lsu. The last 3 games have been low-scoring, defensive battles that weren't decided until the final moments. This game will be the same way. Auburn won't be intimidated about walking into tiger stadium. They have the defense to frustrate LSU (they held Ark to 67 rushing yards last week), but they just can't score. Auburn will have to win by field position, field goals and hope LSU falters in the kicking game and coughs up a couple of turnovers. In a defensive slugfest between two physical teams, I like AUBURN

Waldini: It would be easy to say LSU but Auburn is the best Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde team. You never know which squad is going to show up. Their kicker has moxy and it was funny as hell to see him doing the Gator chomp when they won in Gainesville. But LSU is pretty po'ed about losing last week and they got a nice gift from Rutgers last night. You dont think they are motivated to open up a can of whup a$$? TIGERS (LSU)

UT vs Bama

Gangsta D: What to make of the volunteers? Get smoked by Cal and UF, but then look like world beaters against UGA. The bloom appears to be off the rose in Tuscaloosa. The Tide hasn't been knocking people's socks off lately. But, they are at home and I still don't trust the Volunteers. Too helter skelter for me. Bama by a smidge.

Da Realist: Bryant-Denny stadium will be rocking for this one. Tennessee proved something last week (at home), but they don't bring it every single week. The tide haven't played well lately but will want to use this game to springboard the rest of their season. They'll win by 3. ALABAMA

Waldini: Both these teams also doing a good job of not knowing which team you are going to get each week. Check Tenn's W-L record. When they win, it's by double digits. When they lose, it's by double digits. Alabama has been going through identity crisises trying to figure out if they want to be SEC contenders or pretenders. I got TENN on the road

Michigan vs Illinois

Gangsta D: Well, it really depends on how healthy Mike Hart is. If he can go, and I mean really go, then the Wolverines will win big. I think the Illini proved last week that they weren't ready for primetime. If Hart is gimpy, I still think Michigan wins, but it's by a FG or less. Illinois will be sick next year, but they're just not ready to be good this year.

Da Realist: This is screaming trap game. Michigan is feeling good about themselves after dismantling Purdue last week. Illinois lost to a bad Iowa team last week. Looking ahead? The game's in Champaigne, the expectations are with Michigan AND Hart is hurt. ILLINOIS

Waldini:
another hard one to call. Is Hart going to play? Will Juice rebound from a bad loss? Will Henne still quietly get it done? I think the wolverines are marching back up the Big 10 ladder - WOLVERINES

UF vs UK

Gangsta D: Florida loses its 3rd in a row. It will be a shootout. But Woodson, along with the home crowd, get it done. The gators have had two weeks to think about their losing streak. They come out fired up, but Woodson will have a GIGANTIC chip on his shoulder. 45-41 Wildcats.

Da Realist: Waldini, are you paying attention? D just gave us a gift. Only someone leading by 3 would throw us a bone like this. Florida has lost 2 in a row, they have had 2 weeks off, and Kentucky just came off an emotional TRIPLE overtime win over LSU last week. You don't pick against a good coach that has had 2 weeks to prepare and you don't pick against a good team that has had to stew over a losing streak for 2 weeks straight. FLORIDA

Waldini: GATORS for the same reasons Realist mentioned

K State vs OK State

Gangsta D: I'm riding with Mike Gundy until the wheels come off.

Da Realist: I'm rolling with Kansas State. can't get that beatdown of texas out of my head. KANSAS STATE

Waldini: WILDCATS

Who You Got?

Picks:

Yours Truly 16-8
Osceola 16-8
Smokey 13-11

Waldini:

Dang, I continue to be the Baylor/Duke/Vandy/Arizona/Northwestern of the bunch huh :-)

Bama vs FSU

Gangsta D: Technically not a home game for FSU, but who are we kidding? The Garnet and Gold will be substantially represented in the stands. But will it matter? Bama has played two gut wrenching games in a row. Do they have anything left? Can the 'Noles get their offense going? Bama seems to be on the right track, but I don't know if they're ready emotionally. My brain says to go with Bama, but I think the "home" crowd pushes the 'Noles to victory.

Da Realist: No way does Alabama fall asleep at the wheel in this game so I can't say that FSU will have a motivational advantage. We know Bobby wants this game, but there is another subplot that is just as interesting -- teacher vs student. Jimbo has had 2 weeks off to wake up the offense and get the boys ready. I'm sure he's made quite a few changes (maybe, just maybe including the quarterback position), but Nick wants this game just as badly. I just don't think FSU will be able to bring enough.

They "can" do it, but I need to see them pull out a game like this before I have confidence in them. We still got yahoos getting tasered by the cops on the eve of the biggest game of the season! And we still got Ol' Bobby giving them the message that the game is more important than respect. We're a little banged up and frankly, I don't think we have the speed to keep up with their wideouts all game long. And I don't care about the criticism of John Parker Wilson -- he looks better than any FSU qb i've seen in years. ALABAMA

Waldini: 'Bama proved me wrong last week. I thought they had something special going and then they lose to Georgia at home. Rumblings are also happening inside FSU's camp about the lack of offense. Agree with you Gangsta, I don't know why they say neutral site :-). Gimme ALABAMA only b/c I'm not sold on Bobby's offense.

Cal vs Oregon

Gangsta D: Autzen Stadium is gonna be rocking. Dennis Dixon appears to be the truth. Cal is explosive, but so is Oregon's crowd. This is gonna be one of those classic Pac-10, sling the ball around, nobody play defense, trick play bonanzas. Final score should be in the 45-38 range. These teams look to be even, so I'm going with the home team. It's just hard to beat a good Oregon team at home.

Da Realist: Gotta go with the home team. Dixon will dominate. I think they win comfortably. OREGON

Waldini: This just in, the Ducks lose their top receiver for a year. But they still have Dixon and he's a beast. This should be the game of the week as you have two high octane offenses and neither's defense strikes fear in anyone. I hope Oregon doesnt make the same mistake as my Vols and decide to punt to Jackson. That would be highly uncivilized. OREGON

Clemson vs Gtech

Gangsta D: OK, it's safe to say that Tech is vastly overrated. Stomping ND is no longer a good litmus test. Clemson appears to be on one of their tradional early season rolls. But can they maintain it? Tenuta's defense specializes in tormentin QBs, which is great for Clemson cause they can't throw it. James Davis and CJ Spiller will get heavy work and wear down the yellow jackets. I'm crossing my fingers, and hoping that Tommy isn't screwing with us once again. Clemson by double digits.

Da Realist: The Yellowjackets shouldn't even be in this game by the fourth quarter. Clemson should not lose in the regular season. of course they probably will, but not this game. CLEMSON

Waldini: Will Clemson start it's annual midseason meltdown with a loss to G Tech. Me thinks that won't happen at this game. Too much Davis and Spiller will trump Tech's D. Plus they got exposed by BC a few weeks ago and that officially had me hop off their sleeper bandwagon. Dont screw this up Tommy. CLEMSON

W Va vs S FL

Gangsta D: This is gonna be a good one. The mountaineers have a lethal run game. S. Fl is on the comeup. I was tempted to take the Bulls, until this:

"I thought we were already in the (state's) Big Three," Bulls receiver Taurus Johnson said. "I (didn't) know Miami was still there."
Noel Devine comes home to Florida and runs for 135 yds on six carries. And the Bulls get a much needed dose of reality, and hopefully some humility.

Da Realist: The Bulls are not ready to win this game. I would feel better about their chances if it was in Morgantown. The Bulls have won 2 straight games and I'm always leery about picking a team to win 3 straight. The Mountaineers pull this out on the road. WEST VIRGINIA

Waldini: Great offense (WVa) vs a Great defense (USF). Can that defense stop White, Slaton, and now Devine. Maryland did for a quarter and a half, then BAM it was lights out. USF was one of the teams that beat WVa last year so I know Rodriguez has got revenge on his mind. "Mercy is for the weak" WEST VIRGINIA

Miss St vs S Car

Gangsta D: Three wins for Sylvester. Just two more and he's guaranteed a job for next year. The Bulldog defense is actually pretty good, and OBC is trotting out a freshman for his first start. Neither offense can really put up points so it's going to be a defensive struggle. Couple that with the home crowd and the 'cocks pull this one out. However, if the
Bulldogs win I won't be disappointed.

Da Realist: Let's not get carried away here. The Bulldogs are still a work in progress. The Gamecocks were dominated last week, but they DID beat the dawgs between the hedges earlier this year. And besides, they won't lose 2 weeks in a row. SOUTH CAROLINA

Waldini: We see you creeping up in the W column Sylvester. I'm real happy for him b/c the Bulldog alumni have been smoking crack when it comes to their football team and expectations. But I cant see them pulling another miracle like they did in Auburn 2 wks ago. And now that Spurrier pulled another Danny Wuerffel-Terry Dean with his current set of QBs, I think those boys come out and doing their thing. SOUTH CAROLINA and then they go to Bojangles afterwards for bo-berry biscuits and sweet tea.

Auburn vs UF

Gangsta D: Who's got the balls to pick Auburn in an upset? Well if Jason Campbell, Ronny Brown, and the Cadillac were playing, I'd definitely take the Tigers. Unfortunately, they're not walking through that door. Anyway, you know how I feel about Florida. They can be beaten. Maybe Auburn plays with some emotion and pride. Maybe Brandon Cox pulls his head from his hindquarters. Maybe. But I don't think they have the athletes to do it. It will be close, but Florida wins another squeaker. And we have to hear about the greatness of Tebow for another week. I can't wait for them to go to Baton Rouge.

Da Realist: This is the SEC and anyone can win any game on any given saturday, but Auburn has been awful. Give me FLORIDA.

Waldini: Uggh, I hate to keep picking Florida but this game's in the swamp and the Tigers offense is in disarray. FLORIDA wins but if they happen to lose, I wont mind taking an L on this pick. Another week of Tebow's the greatest QB ever. Read more!

Who You Got?!?

Picks:

Yours Truly 13-5
Osceola 12-6
Smokey 10-8

GA vs Bama

Gangsta D: Is the Tide really this good? Are they using smoke and mirrors? Like Realist told me last week, where did this speed come from? They looked great for the first 40 mins and last 5. In between, not so much. GA looked real good against OK St. Against the Cocks, not so much. GA can match Bama's speed. They don't have a McFadden, but Moreno and Thomas Brown are pretty good. If Stafford gets protection, and the WRs catch the ball it will be a long day for the Tide. I'm going with the Dawgs.

Da Realist: Damnit D, this was supposed to be my upset special. The tide definitely has the tools to be a pretty good team, but I don't think they can put it together for a whole game yet. Everyone's talking about saban, but don't forget about Richt. he's a pretty good coach too. And the dawgs are road warriors. No one expects them to win this game. I'm banking on this being the one game the dawgs come out and play above their level. They'll need a score from their defense to help them out, but i'm going with GEORGIA

Waldini: John Parker Wilson is starting to look legit. Yea his team almost blew a 21 pt lead last week but he kept his boys steady. Gangsta's right about the Georgia comments. Alabama gets another ranked team at home and I think they beat out GAWGA this week. CRIMSON TIDE

Penn St vs Mich

Gangsta D: Michigan is back on track! Well, maybe not. Notre Dame sucks a fat one, so we really didn't learn much. Mike Hart is the truth but it's going to depend on the QB. If Ryan Mallet starts, it's probably going to be a long day. Dude's got a gun and I like his moxie but he's still a true freshman. Penn St hasn't really played anybody, and they were in a tussle with Buffalo last week. Morelli has yet to prove he can win a big game on the road. I think the Nittany Lions have the better team. They have playmakers on the outside to give Michigan problems. I'm torn about this one, cause I feel I'm going to give up my lead this week. I'm going with Penn St in a squeaker that goes down to the last second.

Da Realist: I'm torn on this one. on one hand, the lions are just playing better and i think michigan will have problems defending the wideouts. BUT. This is a proud program and they've been beaten up more than any other team this year. I saw a fire in them last week that, if they bring it this week, may just match any other advantage penn state has. Remember, Michigan has beaten penn state 9 straight times, yet Penn State is favored. Why? Because they beat Notre Dame like a drum? Well, so did Michigan. And let's not forget that Michigan is playing at home. Do you really believe they'll lose 3 games at the big house this early? It's a question of motivation. Michigan cannot lose this game. With a loss, they have nothing to play for. The Wolverines ride mike hart and they find a way to beat Penn State. MICHIGAN

Waldini: Did either of you see Holtz's motivation speech for Penn St to beat Michigan? At least it wasnt the Irish. Ok back to the matchups. Morelli vs Mallet, the Penn St LB vs Mike Hart, Joey P vs Lloyd C. I'm going with Penn St only cuz Henne isnt playing and Michigan isnt facing an inept offense like last week. And can someone tell me why Michigan hasnt gone on the road yet in 4 games?!?! PENN ST

UK vs ARK

Gangsta D: Andre Woodson is America's best kept secret. Darren McFadden is the best player in the country, even though it didn't look that way in the first half. I don't think the 'Cats defense is all that great. They made some stops last week, but Louisville was moving the ball on the pretty well. McFadden knows this team won't win unless he runs for 150+
yards, so he's gonna be motivated. I think Woodson puts up numbers, but the Kentucky defense lets McFadden put up his own. Plus the Hogs have something to prove after letting the Tide come back on them. I gotta go with the 'Backs.

Da Realist: I had my doubts, but Arkansas showed a lot of heart last week in Yuscaloosa. They were down 3 touchdowns before you could make it to the refrigerator for a second helping of banana pudding. But then they rose up and almost came up with a huge victory. I saw bits of kentucky and was impressed but i'm not sure how good Louisville is. Arkansas' secondary will have problems all game long but kentucky will have bigger problems against that hog rush. ARKANSAS

Waldini: Woodson vs McFadden. The latter singlehandley brought his team back into the game against Alabama. And Kentucky's D is worse than Bama's. I think the game will be closer than most believe but I expect the RAZORBACKS to exact revenge for losing last week. ARKANSAS

Cocks vs LSU

Gangsta D: South Carolina appears to have a good defense. LSU has a lethal defense. Blake Mitchell won't complete a pass longer than 15 yards. Not a blowout, but not real close either. LSU 27-10

Da Realist: No doubt LSU is good, but can they consistently do it every single week? Every year under les miles they seem to have a hiccup game that ends up costing them a shot at the title. I think they'll be ready against the big boys (florida, alabama) but it's games like this that would make me nervous if i was a tiger fan. The Gamecocks have a pretty good defense. If the Tigers cough up the ball a couple of times this game could get real interesting. And you know Steve has a few wrinkles he'd love to unveil on the Tigers. Steve said before the season that he felt this team could compete for the sec title. They could go a long way toward backing him up with a victory here. But i don't have the nuts to call this upset. LSU has too much firepower on offense and is even more talented on defense. LSU

Waldini: The Gamecocks dont exactly echo Spurriers ole fun n gun Florida teams but shockingly they are at least winning games I didnt think they could win. But the buck stop here. Matt Flynn, those WRs, the 3 rbs, and that ferocious defense take it back to Rock via WWE style and layeth the smacketh down. LSU

UW vs UCLA

Gangsta D: Oh to be a black coach. UCLA looked to be a sleeper in the PAC-10 this year. Then they ran into the buzzsaw of previously winless Utah. Ouch. UW looked to be the other sleeper in the PAC-10. Then the Buckeyes slapped them around a bit. UCLA's Ben Olson may not play, but Pat Cowan is a capable backup. UCLA's defense is still pretty good. Last week was probably an anomaly. Jake Locker coming to Pasadena, is a big step in his evolution. But, he's probably not ready. UCLA rebounds with a big win. At least Ty will still have more wins than Weis:)

Da Realist: Unfortunately for UW, the Bruins lost last week. Badly. The huskies will have the Bruins full undivided attention this week. The Huskies are too green to go to LA and beat the Bruins in the Rose Bowl. Ben Olsen is inconsistent but if the bruins run the ball as Ohio State did, they'll win the game. UCLA

Waldini: I didnt know the Heritage Bowl had been restarted :-). Will the real UCLA please stand up? I thought Olson was supposed to be the truth but he got served up badly by the lowly Utah Utes last week. Ty didnt do me any favors by losing a game I thought they were gonna win last week too. Comes down to can a freshman QB win a conference game on the road. I dont see it. UCLA in the PAC's 10 version of the Heritage bowl

Maryland vs Wake

Gangsta D: As the coin flips....Maryland. Ray Lewis' brother plays for the 'Terps so I gotta go with them.

Da Realist: I'm going to go with Maryland on this one. I don't know much about the teams but Maryland held things together with West Virginia for a half and they seem to have a pretty good defense. Wake...just hasn't looked at good. That Nebraska game was there for the taking and they decided against it. I'm basically flipping a coin too. MARYLAND

Waldini: So that explains why Ray Lewis was on the sideline last week. I dont know anyone on either team. I'll take WF since I have to catch D b4 he runs away.... Read more!
